How To Blend CLIP-IN Extensions If You Have Thin Hair

People often fear one thing when they realize they have thin hair. They fear that they may damage their hair or even lose more hair when they apply clip-ins or hair extensions that may have to be heavy because of their desired look or style, which requires a lot of hair manipulations. Other times, the challenge may be how to completely conceal the clip-ins, so it will not be obvious
Adding clip-ins can be tricky and tasking at the same time for thin-haired people but before we delve into the steps, do not overlook extensive symptoms of thin hair, especially if you are losing a lot. It would be best to consult your doctor or trichologist.
First Step: creating a thick base
One problem with thin hair is the sparse density of hair fibres on the scalp and this is usually a problem when trying to place the clip hooks. If there are not enough fibres, the clips could fall off, apart from the fact that it could damage the few available fibres of hair as the extension weight might be too much. The way out is an old technique of teasing, which is not always advisable but for the cases of thin hairs. Backcombing will create more volume of hair close to the scalp, thus forming a thick base for the clip-ins.
Second Step: map out zones for the wefts
Another very critical phase is to map out where your ideal clipping line or zone is while clipping in your extensions. It is the place on the head, where you normally can’t see the hair clips. The secure zone for delicate hair is usually just below the eyebrows level. Draw an imaginary arc from one eyebrow to another around your head; somewhere under the arc is where you will clip in your wefts.
Third Step: finding the right positions for your wefts
Most clip-ins come in default volumes or densities with the general application and positioning methods but since our hair type and density is dynamic, you have to manually or with the help of your stylist, locate the perfect positions for your wefts, having in mind that you do not want them to pop out or be exposed. At least, the first thing is that no weft goes above your brow line, the rest is up to you to find out.
Fourth Step: choosing the right extensions and wefts
As earlier said, most clip-in hair extension packs come in different types and sizes but it is not a must that you use all of them, you only use as much as required for the desired volume of hair. So, depending on the size of your head, you could decide to go for wefts with four or three clips. Another thing you should consider is the weight of the extension, which we addressed before, for thin or fine hair, it should not be too heavy, about up to 120g of hair extension is okay to bulk up.
Fifth Step: create a balance by teasing your Crown
Because you restricted the clip-ins to below your brow line, there may be a little unbalanced at the crown area compared to the lower part so what you can do is to also backcomb the crown hair so it can be as voluminous as the rest of the area below the brow line.
